Somatic Release™ is a form of breath work invented by Steven Jaggers. The word “Somatic” by definition means “of the body, especially as distinct from the mind”. Modern science is now starting to show that trauma and stress responses are actually physically held within the body if they are not properly expressed. This most commonly shows up as mental health dis-ease such as anxiety and depression and can go to the extremes of cancer and auto immune issues. The nervous system is the electrical network of your being. Over time, unresolved trauma and/ or chronic stress cause dysregulation of this network. This is where difficulties in our personal and professional lives arise. When you heal trauma and stress, you heal the nervous system. When you heal the nervous system, you heal the emotional self so your authentic self can emerge.

Somatic Release™ is an embodiment experience that takes you out of your thinking mind and into your body’s electrical network. It employs circular, connected breathing coupled with rhythmic music to produce a cathartic emotional release. This release may be in the form of moving, shaking, laughing, crying, yelling, or singing. Using the breath, you will engage your innate ability to heal and move out any defenses, blockages, restrictions, or pains that hold you back from who you are and how you want to show up in the world.
